NUCE – a tool to analyse dealers' business performance Stock Management Appraisal (SMA)

We established the web-based “Benchmarking for Parts” subscription service in late 2001. It was developed following hard copy surveys carried out in the 1990s. It is open to VMs – car and truck – who have agreed to submit and share data with other subscribers. We collect and analyse data quarterly. It is then published on our password-protected website www.partsperformance.com, together with commentary and charts. Topics covered are Background, Ordering, Turnround Times, Availablity, Backorders, Depot Quality, Parts Interpretation, Communications, General, Future and Who's Who. Only the home page is open to non-subscribers. Each year, we hold a conference, normally hosted by one of the subscribers. Each subscriber has access to all data published. We also produce a summary page showing headline data by subscriber. However, this is only a fraction of the data accessible by the subscribers. Whilst it is currently open to vehicle manufacturers, we are keen to expand the scope of subscribers to others; for example, agricultural equipment manufacturers / importers and motor cycle importers.
